Alber Elbaz is Out at Lanvin After 14 Glorious Years
October 29, 2015
The high-powered musical chairs continues today. French fashion house Lanvin has confirmed this morning's report Alber Elbaz is leaving the company after 14 years. Apparently, the split is a result of on-going tensions between te Israeli designer and the top brass on the business side of Lanvin, namely owner Shaw-Lan Wang and CEO Michéle Huiban, though speculation is that any official announcement will call Elbaz's exit a mutual decision.
Considering the very cloase timing od what it happend to Raf Simons resigning from Dior - and from what we have known Elbaz was reportedly considered for that same role while former Dior legend John Galliano was ousted racist remarks in 2011. We are raise a question whether Elbaz will run into the circulation. Dior hasn't annouced who will fill the role.
It is still remain shocking and unclear why Elbaz is making this move. But speculating that he is not quite happy with the Lanvin's overall strategy, especially in Asia. That's yet to be one of the potential reason. "e we turning into an entertainment business? Is that the fashion business? I am questioning. I am not criticizing, I am only reflecting," Alber Elbaz said in a recent interview published on WWD yesterday.
